Lauren & Arie got married at the incredible Haiku Mill. It’s one of my favorite wedding venues on Maui and it’s easy to see why. The lush vegetation, old European design, and what remains of an old sugar mill are just a few of my favorite details. It’s such a unique and private venue nestled into Maui’s North Shore.
Right across the street is the beautiful Haiku House. It’s a massive estate that provided the perfect setting for all of the pre-wedding festivities.
My favorite moments from the day:
Having Hayley Paige (designer of the bridesmaid’s dresses and Lauren’s wedding gown) there to always make sure Lauren’s dress and veil were perfectly placed.
Arie wanted to keep it traditional by seeing Lauren for the first time as she walked down the aisle. Lauren was able to convince him that they should have a private first look. When Arie felt a tap on his shoulder he turned around to see his best man in a wedding dress and holding a beer. It was hilarious!
The emotion on Arie’s face as Lauren walked down the aisle.
Having Chris Harrison officiated the wedding really made it all feel full circle.
Lastly, I loved how relaxed Lauren and Arie were throughout the entire day. All that really mattered to them was that they were finally getting married.
It was such an honor to get to photograph such an incredible love story. It was an intimate wedding and I’m so thankful I was there to create heirlooms for their children and the future generations.
All of the credit has to go to Kimiko Hosaki, founder of K.H & co. She designed the wedding of Lauren and Arie’s dreams and made the entire event seamless. It took an entire team to pull together the wedding of the year! All vendor credits below.
